Georg Kippels
Georg Kippels (born in 1959) is a German politician of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU). Since 2003 he is a member of the German parliament (Deutscher Bundestag) and rapporteur of his party for global health issues in the Committee on Health, Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development and the new Subcommittee on Global Health. Georg Kippels studied law at the University of Cologne and passed his first law examination in 1985, his second examination in 1989. Since then, he was head and owner of a law firm in the town of Bedburg. In his constituency he is an active member of numerous associations and organizations. He is a devoted advocate of Germany's greater international presence in the global health sector and is therefore involved in the German Parliamentary Advisory Council against Neglected Tropical Diseases, the German Parliamentary Advisory Council on World Population and Development and the German Parliamentary Advisory Council on Polio. Furthermore Georg Kippels is a member of the Friends of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and a member of the parliamentary friendship groups for German-Mexican (deputy chairman), German-Central American and German-Chinese relations.
