Neema Lugangira
Hon. Neema Lugangira (MP) has a broad, extensive experience and successful track record in championing reforms and development policies for improved investment enabling environment for the of agricultural, mining and oil & gas. She has held decision making position in the public sector, private sector, non-governmental organisations sector, and even public-private partnerships thus strategically positioning her in the advocacy landscape.
In November 2020, for the first time Hon. Lugangira became a Member of Parliament Special Seats of the Ruling Party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) representing Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) for Tanzania Mainland and hails originally from Kagera region. She is a Member of Two Parliamentary Standing Committees; Social Services and Community Development, and HIV, TB and Drugs.
Her continued passion and commitment for nutrition and health led her to be the Founding Chairperson of Parliamentary Caucus on Food Safety. She also serves as the Secretary to Tanzania Parliamentarians Against Malaria Group.
In the last few months, Hon. Neema Lugangira was appointed National Food Systems Champion by the Ministry of Agriculture; National Non-Communicable Diseases Ambassador and National COVID19 Ambassador by the Ministry responsible for Health.
Internationally, Hon. Lugangira is a Member of the International Parliamentary Network on Education and the Global Parliamentary Group to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases.
