Theo Clarke MP has a keen interest in foreign affairs, international development and global trade. Ms Clarke is the Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Kenya.
Before becoming the Member of Parliament for Stafford, she was an entrepreneur and she also founded and was the Chief Executive of the Coalition for Global Prosperity, which is backed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Ms Clarke was the Director of Conservative Friends of International Development and its Vice-Chair.
As an MP, Ms Clarke continues her important international work. She is currently a member of the Women & Equalities Select Committee and the International Development Select Committee, and she is also the Chair of the Select Committee’s subcommittee on the work of ICAI. Ms Clarke is the Co-Chair of the Trade Out of Poverty All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), the Co-Chair for the APPG for the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals as well as being the Co-Chair of the APPG on International Conservation and Vice-Chair of the APPG for Africa. Ms Clarke has also been selected by the Prime Minister to be part of the United Kingdom’s delegation to the Council of Europe.
